Zhao Liying’s 5-Year-Old Son Visits the Set of Her New Drama with Huang Xiaoming, Attracts a Crowd

Recently, mainland Chinese actress Zhao Liying, who is often described as being so busy that she is either filming or on her way to the set, has been working on a new drama series “The City Builder” with Huang Xiaoming. During this time, she was spotted bringing her 5-year-old son to visit the set, and the uncanny resemblance between the mother and son’s profiles sparked curiosity among netizens.

In the midst of her career high, Zhao Liying not only won the Golden Eagle Award and Feitian Award for Best Actress this year but also clinched her first film award – the Hundred Flowers Award for Best Supporting Actress. While filming the new drama “The City Builder” with Huang Xiaoming, she was recently captured bringing her 5-year-old son “Xiang Xiang” to visit the set.

In the footage, “Xiang Xiang,” dressed in a dark casual suit, followed Zhao Liying to the set. As the car came to a stop, the lively “Xiang Xiang” immediately hopped out of the car, bouncing around cutely as he walked. Zhao Liying suddenly noticed that her son wasn’t wearing a hat, so she returned to the car to fetch one and promptly put it on him, making sure he wouldn’t catch a cold. After putting the hat on her son, she gently pressed it down with her hand, showing great care to ensure it stayed in place and wouldn’t be blown away by the cold wind. “Xiang Xiang” seemed curious about everything and even ended up playing hide-and-seek with the director on set, clearly having a great time.

Throughout the process, Zhao Liying’s gaze was always on her son, her motherly love shining through. Paparazzi revealed that although both mother and son were wearing masks making their features unclear, “Xiang Xiang” nearly mirrored his mother’s face shape, inheriting the good genes.

At the age of 37, Zhao Liying, who collaborated with the 9-year-older Feng Shaofeng in TV dramas such as “The Princess Weiyoung” and “Legend of Fei,” although their marriage lasted only three years due to mutual fate from their work, their relationship has continued to attract public attention.

After Zhao Liying’s divorce from Feng Shaofeng, although their son is being raised by Feng Shaofeng, both parents make efforts to spend time with their child. Zhao Liying once admitted in an interview that due to the better financial situation of Feng’s family, they decided together to let their son be cared for by his father’s family. She has been frequently photographed picking up her son to go out from Feng’s house, then sending him back the next day, as well as being seen together with Feng Shaofeng taking care of their son and having meals, earning them the title of “rare model of divorce in the mainland entertainment circle” from netizens. Rumors of a reconciliation between them have also occasionally made it to the hot search list.

Since her divorce, Zhao Liying’s career seems to be flourishing, earning her the nickname of “being on fire.” Apart from the hugely successful TV drama “You Fei,” which she starred in with Lin Gengxin, setting new viewership records, her venture into the film industry has also been remarkable. In recent years, she has appeared in films such as “The Twentieth Rule,” “Road of Fire,” and “Qiao Yan’s Secrets,” winning awards for her performances in “The Twentieth Rule” and the series “Midsummer is Full of Love.”
