Girl at Hainan Beach Swept Away by Huge Wave, Heroic Young Man in White Saves Her

Multiple netizens have posted on-site videos showing a dramatic scene near the Haitian Yise scenic spot in Wanning City, Hainan Province on January 30th (the second day of Chinese New Year). A young girl was swept into the sea by a giant wave, but a young man in white attire and several enthusiastic citizens made several attempts to rescue her, eventually bringing her ashore.

According to Extensive News coverage on January 31st, eyewitnesses at the scene stated that the young girl, after being rescued, was conscious and not in danger of losing her life.

” The young girl was crouching by the seaside playing with sand when a large wave came and swept her into the sea.” Ms. Guo from Zhengzhou, Henan witnessed this thrilling moment. A white giant wave rushed towards the shore, sweeping a young girl playing by the sea into the sea. The girl drifted back and forth with the waves in the sea. A young man in white ran towards the sea and tried multiple times to pull the girl back, but the huge waves posed significant challenges for the rescue efforts.

Ms. Guo recorded the process of the young man’s rescue on her phone. In the video, the young man in white made numerous attempts at rescue and was even knocked down by the waves. After several attempts, as a giant wave rolled the young girl towards the shore, he rushed into the sea and grabbed the young girl. Several enthusiastic bystanders joined in and helped bring the young girl back to the shore. Cheers erupted at the scene as the young girl was rescued. “Throughout the process, the young man in white made many attempts, always looking for an opportunity. It felt like he was risking his life to save the girl. When the young girl was rescued, she was conscious, so she should be okay.”

Mr. Tang, a local resident of Hainan who was also playing by the sea at the time of the incident, confirmed Ms. Guo’s account. Mr. Tang stated that his family members are nurses at the hospital. They immediately provided medical treatment to the young girl after she was rescued, helping her expel the seawater. “The young girl who was swept into the sea is around 10 years old. When she was rescued, she remained conscious and showed no signs of life-threatening conditions. The young man in white who rescued her is a member of a cycling group, but specific details are unknown.”

In the video recorded by Mr. Tang, the young man in white took big strides and rushed into the sea while the young girl drifted in the waves. Her mother also attempted to rescue her. After the young girl was rescued, she was conscious, and several bystanders, including the young man in white, patted her back to help her expel the seawater.
