European Parliament Members Nominate Musk for Nobel Peace Prize

A European Parliament member has nominated tech giant Elon Musk for the 2025 Nobel Peace Prize for his contributions to advocating for freedom of speech.

Slovenian European Parliament member Branko Grims posted on social media platform X on Thursday, January 29, stating that the proposal to award Musk the 2025 Nobel Peace Prize has been successfully submitted. He praised Musk for consistently supporting freedom of speech as a fundamental human right, which in turn supports peace. Grims expressed his gratitude to all co-nominators and those who have helped with this challenging project.

In the post, Grims shared an email from the Norwegian Nobel Institute confirming that the Nobel Committee has received his nomination documents.

Grims, a senior Slovenian politician, has previously suggested using “re-immigration” to expel immigrants from Europe.

In late December last year, during an interview with the European current affairs newsletter “Brussels Signal”, Grims explained why he nominated Musk for the Nobel Peace Prize.

He told the media outlet, “I proposed Elon Musk for next year’s Nobel Peace Prize because he has made more contributions to the basic human right of freedom of speech.”

He added that Musk taking over Twitter and renaming it X was “the best thing that has happened to Western civilization in the past few years.”

After Grims posted on X platform on Wednesday, users thanked the owner for the changes he made for humanitarianism on the social media platform.

One user wrote, “He deserves this honor. Without him, we would still be under the influence of all social media brainwashing.”

Another person said, “Elon has given everyone – whether left or right – the opportunity to express their opinions openly. He definitely deserves the Nobel Peace Prize.”
