Wong Teng-fai’s Confident in Vocal Skills, Emotions Managed with One Trick to Ease Resentment

Entertainer Huang Dao-hui recently appeared as a guest on “Who’s Coming to Dinner 15” and learned that the interviewed family runs the Western Ukulele Girls band. Excited by this, Huang Dao-hui shared that he has always had a music dream and admitted that even before forming the Bench Band, he had formed a band during his university days.

Huang Dao-hui had participated in the popular Yamaha music contest before but unfortunately did not win any awards. Despite this, he remains confident in his singing ability, stating, “I still consider myself a singing deity until now, but I don’t think I am a movie emperor.”

Last year, his Bench Band finally performed at a New Year’s Eve event, marking his first time. Reflecting on this experience, he said, “When I could take the stage and sing to everyone, I felt like I could go back without regrets!”

Huang Dao-hui has previously served as a variety show host and appeared in multiple film and television works such as “Monga” and “Tea Money,” and won accolades with the TV Golden Bell Award for Best Supporting Actor in a Mini-series for “The Miracle Worker.” It was not until 2019 when he ventured into the music field by establishing the Bench Band, becoming a versatile artist.

Over the years, Huang Dao-hui has experienced the ups and downs of life and often reflects on the meaning of life. He emotionally expressed that no matter what he encounters now, he tries not to compare with others as the end point of life will be the same anyway.

In dealing with fluctuating emotions, Huang Dao-hui generously shared his secret on the show, relying on a set of 666 breathing techniques to relax and even demonstrated it live.

“By using this trick, you can let go of all the bad things. Take 6 deep breaths with resentment, relax your body first, then take 6 short breaths with a smile; the final step of deep breathing is important, inhale while saying ‘I accept you’, exhale while saying ‘I bless you’, repeat 6 times.” Everyone present followed his lead and expressed their deep appreciation.

When asked about “how to balance career and life well?”, Huang Dao-hui humbly stated that he only has one mentality, which is “not to be picky, not to compare, and to be willing.”

He also joked about his mother-in-law, “Look at my mother-in-law spending money so freely, I just shrug and be willing. She has been to 5 countries since last year, which means she is still healthy and can travel around and have fun everywhere, which is a good thing.”

Regarding future plans, Huang Dao-hui said he never plans ahead because “the present moment” is the future. “Don’t think about it. Every time you think about something, you won’t do it. The ultimate move is that as long as you think of something to do, just go for it, just do it!”
