Volvo Los Angeles Celebrates Chinese New Year with Eye-catching 2025 New Car Models

In Los Angeles, the Chinese Lunar New Year is not just the most important traditional holiday for the Chinese community, but it is also increasingly attracting people from other ethnicities to join in the celebrations. Last Saturday (February 1st), the Swedish car brand Volvo hosted a Chinese New Year celebration at La Puente City Park in Los Angeles, featuring dragon and lion dances, magic shows, acrobatics, luxury car test drives, and other activities that brought joy and festivity to the community.

The park was beautifully decorated with lights and decorations, attracting a continuous flow of people. At the entrance, there was a red gate with the word “Volvo” written on it, and busy staff members were preparing a variety of drinks and snacks for the guests. On the spacious lawn, residents were gathered in groups, either sitting on chairs or on the ground, enjoying the performances and indulging in delicious food.

On one side of the park, people interested in Volvo’s new car models formed long queues for test drives. Several models of Volvo SUVs, off-road vehicles, and sedans were lined up, with the three newest plug-in hybrid SUVs and off-road vehicles displayed at the forefront, capturing everyone’s attention with their elegance.

During the event, three city council members from La Puente City participated in the celebration. Deputy Mayor Charlie Klinakis, representing Mayor Valerie Muñoz and the city residents, extended holiday greetings to the guests, thanked Volvo for their sponsorship and efforts, and wished the attendees a happy Chinese New Year.

The audience enjoyed various performances throughout the day, including hula hoop acrobatics, magic shows, lion dances, and more. The magic performance, in particular, mesmerized the audience with its astonishing visual effects.

Mr. Wang, a Chinese attendee who attended with his wife and two daughters, expressed his hope to enhance his children’s cultural identity by participating in Chinese traditional New Year celebrations. He emphasized the importance of his children being connected to their roots despite growing up predominantly speaking English in school and outside.

Mr. Wang also admired Volvo’s safety features and expressed his preference for multi-purpose vehicles (MPVs). He mentioned that if Volvo produced a model that suited his family’s needs, such as an MPV, he would consider purchasing it.

The organizers from the Volvo dealership expressed their gratitude for the guests’ attendance at the Chinese New Year celebration, emphasizing that it was their third time hosting such an event and wishing everyone a happy new year.

A representative from Volvo highlighted the brand’s three main characteristics: prioritizing safety, focusing on families, and innovation. She underscored the importance of innovation for Volvo and thanked the community for making Volvo part of their lives.

Volvo’s commitment to automotive safety is well-known, with many contemporary safety technologies originating from the brand, along with its increasingly attractive and stylish designs.

Mr. Lai, a sales representative, introduced the 2025 Volvo XC90 plug-in hybrid vehicle, emphasizing its larger central control screen compatible with the Android system, eco-friendly wood interior trim, and improved fuel efficiency, reaching up to 58 miles per gallon. The XC90 also boasts advanced safety features and an environmentally friendly design that minimizes emissions.

Resident Clinton, an avid car enthusiast familiar with Volvo, and his girlfriend showed interest in the Volvo XC60 plug-in hybrid model displayed during the event. He praised the vehicle’s proportionate design, ergonomic interior buttons, and overall clean and sleek appearance. Clinton expressed a preference for Volvo over BMW, particularly favoring the XC60 for its interior design.

At the event, Volvo also showcased a fully electric SUV with a range of around 300 miles when fully charged, equipped with intelligent sensing systems for enhanced safety.

In conclusion, the Chinese New Year celebration hosted by Volvo in Los Angeles not only brought joy and cultural appreciation to attendees but also showcased Volvo’s commitment to safety, innovation, and environmentally friendly vehicles, leaving a lasting impression on the community.
