Established in 1976, the Chinese American Academic and Professional Society is approaching its 50th anniversary, with celebrations set to be held on August 16 at the Sheraton Hotel in Flushing. The theme of the annual meeting is “Technological Innovation and Economic Prosperity,” featuring group discussions on topics such as urban planning and transportation management, humanities and education, finance, technology innovation, healthcare, and quality of life.
Unlike previous years, CAAPS plans to invite several internationally renowned scholars and industry guests to its 50th annual meeting, including Academician Qian Xu from the Academia Sinica in the United States, Dr. Shaw Mei-chen, a member of the National Academy of Sciences and the Inventors Hall of Fame, Huang Renxun, Founder and CEO of NVIDIA, and Wei Chejia, Chairman of TSMC.
Director Li Zhiqiang expressed that at CAAPS’ 50th annual meeting, they would showcase the “Taiwanese brilliance” in various professional fields where continuous innovation and advancement take place. This event aims to further promote industry-academia collaboration, foster technological innovation, and enhance economic prosperity.
On the occasion of CAAPS’ 50th anniversary, the society plans to establish scholarships for high school students. Recognizing that high school students are approaching an important stage in their lives, they hope that through the connection with CAAPS, young individuals can “Learn from the Best” and establish a platform for success.
In addition to the annual meeting, CAAPS also plans to organize three workshops in the near future on topics related to entrepreneurship, taxation, and estate planning.
