Unusual Sounds and Tremors Detected in Blue Field Underground of Xi’an, Villagers Temporarily Evacuated

Recent days, there have been strange noises coming from underground in Kangzhuang Village, Qianwei Town, Lantian County, Shaanxi Province, causing the villagers to be evacuated urgently. This village had previously experienced a grave robbery incident.

Villagers in Kangzhuang Village, Qianwei Town, Lantian County, Shaanxi Province, have reported hearing unusual noises underground, prompting them to evacuate the village. Photos circulating online show people apparently sleeping outside under the eaves of houses, instead of being accommodated indoors.

On July 10, villagers in Kangzhuang Village told Jumuxin News that on the night of the 9th, villagers either stayed with relatives or friends or sought emergency shelter elsewhere.

A villager from Qianwei Town, Kangzhuang Village disclosed that the main reason for the evacuation was that residents in Group Five of Kangzhuang Village heard strange noises underground, along with a sense of vibration. After on-site inspections and monitoring by relevant departments, it was suspected that there might be faults or cavities underground.

Official personnel from the Qianwei Town government stated that they are still determining the cause of the noises. A staff member from an authoritative department in Lantian County mentioned that there were initial suspicions of underground cavities, and they are awaiting the results of the investigation.

According to reports by Benliu News, local villagers have stated that there is a large cavity about nine meters below the surface, and the muffled noises heard might be related to collapsing sounds.

Ran News reported that a few thefts of ancient tombs had previously occurred near the village, but it is uncertain whether it is related to the recent underground collapse.

During the night of the 10th, the emergency management department of Lantian County announced that several villagers from Kangzhuang Village had reported hearing strange noises underground consecutively on the 8th and 9th, and after exploration, it was found that the noises were related to a malfunction in the nearby domestic water pump. The villagers have returned to the village.

The announcement did not disclose specific details about the water pump malfunction or its repairs, nor did it address whether it was related to tomb theft or excavation of cavities.

Comments from netizens raised questions: “Could a loose impeller of the water pump hitting the snail shell and vibrating transmit sounds in all directions?” “Thought it was a precursor to an earthquake.” “Could someone be digging underground to steal ancient tombs?”

Others expressed, “These days, all sorts of strange phenomena can happen.” “Ah, it’s really worrying.”
