Recently, a parent in Jiangxi Province exposed online that their 14-year-old son and his classmate were beaten in turns by 9 security guards at Yichun Trade Plaza, resulting in fractured ribs and multiple soft tissue injuries. This news has sparked widespread attention on the internet.
According to the parent’s online post on June 10th, the incident occurred on June 9th when the two 14-year-old boys went to play at Yichun Trade Plaza. Upon their arrival, they were forcefully beaten unconscious by security guards with iron rods. Subsequently, several security guards collectively took the two children to a small office and illegally detained them for 5 hours.
During this period, the security guards demanded the children to kneel on the iron rods, burned their hands with cigarette butts, slapped them, and in a ruthless manner, 9 security guards took turns using iron rods to hit the boys’ heads, backs, and even fractured their knees. The children begged for mercy on their knees, offering to call their parents for money, any amount would do, just begging to be spared. However, the security guards coldly responded, “I don’t want money, I just want you to take medicine for the rest of your life.”
The parent mentioned that her son had thought of calling the police at one point, but his phone was confiscated by the security guards.
According to Ms. Hu, the parent, her son and his classmate were just riding electric bikes to the mall entrance, but were mistaken by the security guards as the children who had stolen something from the mall a few days prior. The security guards forcibly stopped them, dragged them to the office, assaulted them with sticks, forced them to admit to baseless “crimes”, and the violent process lasted for 5 hours. During this time, not only the security guards were violent, but multiple merchants from the mall also joined in the beating, yet no one reported to the authorities.
As diagnosed by the orthopedics department of Yichun North Hospital, her son suffered 80% soft tissue damage throughout his body, along with multiple fractures. Photos posted by Ms. Hu showed multiple injuries on the boys’ bodies, with extensive bruising on their backs.
After the parent reported to the police, the authorities stated, “The security guards had mistaken the identities.”
Following the uproar online, on June 12th, Yichun Public Security Bureau Yiyang Branch issued a notice stating that on June 9th, an incident of “illegal detention of two minors by security personnel” occurred in a certain commercial market in Yiyang New District of Yichun City. After the incident, criminal coercive measures were taken against 5 suspects on the 10th, and administrative detention was imposed on one individual for unlawful conduct. Currently, the case is under further investigation.
