Recent days, in Shenqiu County, Zhoukou City, Henan Province, a “street murder” incident occurred, resulting in at least 2 deaths and 1 injury, with the suspect fleeing and later committing suicide.
On October 16th, a video of the “street murder” incident in Shenqiu County, Zhoukou City, Henan Province spread online. The video showed a large crowd gathering near the scene of the murder, with a police cordon in place and personnel conducting investigations on-site. Bloodstains could be seen on the ground. In another video, a man’s voice can be heard saying “murder,” while an elderly woman mentioned “a family” and “several killed.” Some netizens commented that a total of 3 people had died.
Netizen “Nancheng Old Alley” said: “Regarding what happened in the hometown, someone livestreamed the scene yesterday. A staircase was completely covered in blood, thick and sticky, everywhere.”
Regarding the cause of the incident, netizen “Daddy Alone Dominates You Softly” stated, “I heard that the man who committed the murder went to jail, and his ex-wife remarried. After his release, he killed his ex-wife and her current husband.”
According to reports from mainland Chinese media, the police stated that after committing the murder, the man fled in a black SUV and was eventually captured near his hometown.
On October 17th, Shenqiu County police reported that the suspect, Qi Mouliang, 45 years old, committed suicide out of fear during the police arrest process and was pronounced dead after unsuccessful rescue efforts at the hospital. Currently, the condition of the injured person is stable with no life-threatening risks. However, the report stated that the incident caused 2 deaths and 1 injury. In response to the online rumor of three deaths, personnel from Shenqiu County police told Jiemu News that the information circulating online was not accurate.
