Taiwan’s puzzle variety show “Please ATM” invited Hu Gua and Sandra to co-host, where guests can win cash prizes from the ATM through three rounds of intellectual challenges, turning intelligence into money. Today’s episode on the theme of “Cute Pet Guardians’ Contest” featured guests such as Su Zongyi, Li Yi, Huang Qiuyi, Xia Jialu, and Zhang Jingwen.
The guests not only came to compete for the prize money but also shared their heartwarming stories about their adorable pets. Su Zongyi, a former news anchor, revealed that she had spayed over ten stray animals in the past and currently looks after five street cats, earning praise from host Sandra for her kindness.
Recalling her days as a news anchor, Su Zongyi mentioned that she often saw news about search and rescue dogs, which deepened her emotional connection with animals. Recently, Su Zongyi has taken on the role of ambassador for the Taiwan Working Dog Development Association, organizing charity events to raise awareness about working dogs and improve the quality of life for retired working dogs.
After hearing about Su Zongyi’s dedication to cats and dogs, co-host Hu Gua couldn’t help but commend her, saying, “You really have a strong sense of mission.”
As a cat lover, Xia Jialu shared in the program that while she couldn’t hear her cat’s footsteps at night, she could hear the playful antics and occasional sound of breaking things, evoking understanding from Hu Gua.
Reflecting on a recent incident in the park behind his house where a cat’s cries sounded heart-wrenching, Hu Gua demonstrated the cat’s cry to illustrate how distressing it was, causing laughter among the audience. Sandra jokingly added, “It must be ‘Spring’ coming!”
Li Yi, who has a passion for riding motorcycles, revealed on the show that she has spent less time with her pet recently and expressed a desire to travel on a motorcycle with her pet. This prompted Hu Gua to jokingly tease Li Yi, suggesting that her pet “doesn’t really know you anymore!” to which Li Yi quickly clarified, “No, we are very close!”
