On February 2nd, an incident involving a tourist falling off the An Yuan Gate of the Xi’an City Wall occurred, with the extent of injuries and casualties remaining unclear. According to sources, it was suspected to be a suicide, and related information was promptly deleted.
Following the incident, several staff members rushed to the scene on the city wall to handle the situation. An ambulance parked below the wall quickly transported the fallen tourist away from the site.
As disclosed by netizen “Dad of a Tea Lover”, the tourist in question reportedly committed suicide due to depression.
Public information indicates that the Xi’an City Wall is a renowned tourist attraction in Xi’an, with a height of 12 meters and a circumference of 13.74 kilometers. It is one of the most intact ancient city wall structures preserved in China, drawing a large number of tourists for sightseeing annually.
Regarding this event, staff from the Qujiang New District Culture and Tourism Bureau responded on February 3rd that the tourist’s fall may be related to their underlying health condition, with specific details awaiting the conclusion of the police investigation.
However, as of now, there have been no official updates from the police. Meanwhile, reports by Fenghuang Net and NetEase News about this incident, as well as the circulating videos on the internet, have all been removed.
