In a surveillance video dated November 27th, a figure resembling a tiger appeared on the screen, with viewers exclaiming “tiger, tiger.” Another segment of the video showed what seemed to be tiger footprints on the snow-covered ground.
Some netizens identified the incident location as Dadianzitun in Laoheshan Town.
According to Da Wan News, on November 27th, they reached out to two villagers, both confirming the rumor of a tiger entering the village. One villager mentioned that they first spotted what looked like tiger footprints, and upon checking the surveillance footage, they indeed caught a glimpse of a tiger. However, both villagers claimed they did not personally witness the tiger.
Villagers mentioned that Dadianzitun is within the Northeast Tiger Leopard National Park conservation zone, where tiger sightings have occurred in the past. One villager even recalled seeing a leopard many years ago.
The Northeast Tiger Leopard National Park’s website has specifically marked Laoheshan Town on their management zone map.
Reported by Xinjing News, government officials in Laoheshan Town stated they have notified residents to stay indoors unless necessary. Staff from the Suiyang Branch of the Northeast Tiger Leopard National Park Management Bureau mentioned that the tiger only briefly visited the village and did not harm anyone.
The news quickly trended online, with many expressing concern about the reduced food sources during winter, prompting tigers to search for prey and posing a safety risk to residents near protected areas.
Recently, there have been reports of tiger sightings in various regions of Heilongjiang Province, resulting in injuries to villagers.
On the morning of November 18th, in Jixing Village, Changtai Village, Boteli County, Qitaihe City, a tiger intruded into a residential area. The tiger headbutted the courtyard gate of a villager’s home, causing injuries to a person walking nearby. Villagers recounted it was the first time they heard of a tiger entering the village, forcing them to stay indoors with doors locked.
Surveillance footage from November 18th around 6:08 am showed animalistic growls, barking dogs, and a large dark figure passing by the doorway of a farmhouse. A man in the yard alerted others, stating, “A big tiger has come.” Minutes later, the animal charged at the metal gate, causing a commotion before the man hurriedly retreated inside.
Village committee officials confirmed the tiger’s presence, noting a 65-year-old villager surnamed Zhao had been bitten and was hospitalized. Zhao’s son, Mr. Zhao, mentioned that two tigers were involved in the incident.
