Thai Buffalo Reaches 185 cm in Height, Becomes the Tallest Buffalo in the World

In Thailand, a water buffalo with a height of 185 centimeters has broken the Guinness World Record, becoming the tallest water buffalo in the world. This height is 50 centimeters taller than the average water buffalo and even taller than most people.

According to a report on the Guinness World Records website on February 10th, the buffalo named “King Kong” lives on the Ninlanee Farm in Nakhon Ratchasima Province, Thailand. With a height of 185 centimeters from hoof to shoulder hump, he has set a new Guinness World Record for the “tallest water buffalo”.

Despite his massive size, “King Kong” is a gentle giant who loves playing in the pond, munching on bananas, and interacting with his caretakers.

Born on April 1, 2021, at the farm, “King Kong” was named by the farm owner Suchart Booncharoen due to his remarkable height noticed since birth. Farm staff member Cherpatt Wutti mentioned that they knew from the very beginning that he was different from other water buffaloes in terms of height.

At only 3 years old, “King Kong” is still quite young but already incredibly huge. However, Wutti describes him as playful and obedient like a mischievous puppy, enjoying being scratched, playing around, and running with people.

Wutti mentioned, “He is really friendly, like having a big, strong dog on the farm.”

“King Kong’s” day starts at 6 a.m., where he is let out into the paddock to play in the pond, followed by a shower and a delicious breakfast. Throughout the day, he has free time to roam around. By around 5:30 p.m., his caretakers bathe him again, feed him dinner, and then it’s bedtime.

“King Kong” consumes approximately 35 kilograms of food a day, including straw, corn, and bananas.

Wutti expressed her admiration for “King Kong”, appreciating his unique qualities, body size, and personality, noting that everyone at the farm loves him.

She shared her feelings of disbelief and honor at being present as “King Kong” achieved this world record. She described it as a truly special moment.

The Ninlanee Farm, originally a horse farm, transitioned to focus on water buffalo breeding. “King Kong” has become a popular figure at the farm, where his parents still reside.

In Thailand, water buffaloes hold significant cultural and historical importance. Over the years, they have played crucial roles in agriculture and transportation sectors.
