Tesla’s 199 yuan figurine sold out in China in 15 minutes.

On December 26, 2024, the Tesla Bot humanoid robot figurine officially went on sale in China for 199 yuan. However, in less than 15 minutes, it was sold out, with prices on secondary trading platforms soaring to over a thousand yuan.

Both the official Tesla app and third-party e-commerce platforms displayed the product as sold out, showing statuses like “out of stock” and “off the shelves.”

According to a report by Guangming Net, on a third-party e-commerce platform’s official Tesla flagship store, the figurine was reported to have sold over 100 units. Customer service representatives confirmed that it had indeed sold out. When asked about restocking, they mentioned that they had not received any notification yet and advised customers to stay tuned for updates.

Regarding how many units of the figurine Tesla had put up for sale and other related questions, Tesla stated that they were not sure but mentioned that the product was initially launched in the North American market. On a certain Chinese secondary trading platform, the figurine was even priced as high as 9,000 yuan, although there were more listings at prices like 588 yuan and 499 yuan in the second-hand market.

In a report by Blue Whale News, it was highlighted that Tesla’s previous peripheral products had also been highly sought after. Public records show that in 2020, Tesla released Teslaquila, a tequila product priced at $250, which quickly sold out upon its launch. Empty bottles of Teslaquila even appeared on the secondary market, fetching prices ranging from $500 to $800.
