The Ministry of National Defense of the Republic of China announced that from today at 12:55 noon, a total of 24 instances of Chinese Communist Party (CCP) J-16 fighter jets and drones were detected, with 18 instances crossing the median line of the Taiwan Strait. In addition, the CCP launched a carrier rocket from the Xichang Satellite Launch Center in Sichuan in the early hours of this morning, passing through the central region of Taiwan at an altitude outside the atmosphere, posing no threat to Taiwan.
The CCP claims Taiwan as an integral part of its territory and continues to escalate its military threats in the Taiwan Strait area. Xi Jinping stated in his New Year’s address for 2025 that “no one can stop the overall trend of unification.” President of the Republic of China, Lai Ching-te, attended the closing ceremony of the 61st session of the Investigation Bureau Training Class under the Ministry of Justice today, reminding the graduating trainees that the work of the Bureau involves national security and requires active resistance against CCP infiltration, united front tactics, and annexation.
The Ministry of National Defense of the Republic of China released information on the CCP’s activities in the air near the Taiwan Strait from 6:00 am on the 6th to 6:00 am today, detecting 15 instances of CCP aircraft (with 14 instances crossing the median line entering the southwest airspace) and 8 CCP ships continuously operating in the vicinity of the Taiwan Strait.
The Taiwan Ministry of National Defense emphasized that the military is closely monitoring and responding with aircraft, ships, and missile systems.
According to the activity diagram released by the Taiwan Ministry of National Defense today, from 7:45 am to 7:05 pm on the 6th, the military detected 7 instances of CCP main fighter jets and drones (6 instances crossing the median line of the Taiwan Strait); from 4:05 pm to 7:15 pm on the 6th, 8 instances of CCP main fighter jets were detected.
Furthermore, the Taiwan Ministry of National Defense issued a press release at 5:20 pm today, stating that since 12:55 pm, a total of 24 instances of CCP J-16 and KJ-500 fighter jets, as well as various types of drones, have been detected carrying out sea activities, with 18 instances crossing the median line and its extension lines, entering the airspace of northern, central, southwest, and eastern Taiwan, coordinating with CCP ships performing “joint preparedness patrols.”
The Taiwan Ministry of National Defense emphasized that the military is using joint intelligence surveillance means to closely monitor and appropriately respond with aircraft, ships, and missile systems.
Additionally, the Taiwan Ministry of National Defense stated that in the early hours of today, the CCP launched a carrier rocket from the Xichang Satellite Launch Center in Sichuan, flying over the central region of Taiwan towards the Pacific Ocean, at an altitude outside the atmosphere, with no harm to the Taiwan region.
The Taiwan Ministry of National Defense reiterated the use of joint intelligence surveillance systems to closely monitor relevant activities and exercise appropriate vigilance and response.
