The Taiwan Ministry of National Defense responded to the Chinese Ministry of National Defense’s statement on the 27th, saying that they will “sooner or later take you in” regarding Taiwan’s “Han Kuang 41” military exercise. The Taiwan Ministry of National Defense stated that Beijing’s escalating military threats in the Indo-Pacific and even globally have made it the biggest “troublemaker” in the international community.
According to reports on the 27th, during a routine press conference, the Chinese Ministry of National Defense criticized Taiwan’s Han Kuang 41 military exercise by saying, “Resisting a powerful opponent means self-destruction, and we will sooner or later come to take you in.”
On the morning of the 28th, the Taiwan Ministry of National Defense released a statement expressing that Beijing has been continuously escalating military threats in the Indo-Pacific and globally, openly challenging the international order and destabilizing regional stability, thus becoming the biggest “troublemaker” in the international community. These actions not only display a “hegemonic” attitude but also reveal the true intentions of “substantial intimidation.”
The Taiwan Ministry of National Defense pointed out that this year marks the 80th anniversary of World War II, and history has proven that any form of aggression and expansion ultimately ends in failure. The actions of the Chinese military in recent years are repeating the mistakes of aggressors, stubbornly leading the Chinese Communist Party towards its downfall.
The Taiwan Ministry of National Defense emphasized that as a responsible member of the region, the national army is dedicated to building up its defense capabilities to safeguard national sovereignty, uphold freedom and democracy, and cooperate in maintaining regional security and stability. This approach is significantly different from the reckless behavior of disregarding international norms and suddenly declaring shooting exercises in international waters that endanger aviation safety and navigation security.
Furthermore, the Taiwan Ministry of National Defense stressed that Taiwan upholds the core values of freedom and democracy, and any attempt to change the status quo by force will be strongly opposed by all Taiwanese. The national army, as a strong barrier protecting the country, will fully defend national sovereignty and the safety of the people. The Chinese authorities are warned to recognize reality and resolve differences through peaceful dialogue, which is the correct path in the interests of all parties in the region.
