On December 29, 2024, Taiwan’s anti-Communist internet celebrities “八炯” (Bajiong) Wen Ziyu and “閩南狼” (Min Nan Wolf) Chen Baiyuan released a follow-up video exposing how the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) is trying to influence and buy off Taiwanese people, sparking public attention.
Chen Baiyuan added an interesting angle to his visit to Mainland China this time. While visiting the CCP’s united front organization in Fujian, he took the opportunity to interact with locals to understand their thoughts on Taiwan and the CCP. Besides revealing the economic distress locals shared, some also expressed discontent with the CCP’s suppression of freedom of speech.
On December 28, Bajiong, the host of the “攝徒日記” (Shè tú rì jì) channel, released the second part of the “China United Front Documentary” on his video website account. Taiwanese rapper Chen Baiyuan introduced his experiences of interacting with CCP united front officials during his visit to Mainland China at the beginning of the video.
Chen Baiyuan mentioned, “When we travel to Mainland China, they will host you once you arrive. If you are a famous internet celebrity, they will offer you money to promote their agenda. Think about it, as an influencer, if Mainland China provides you with funds and you speak positively about China, what impact does it have on Taiwan?”
He pointed out that young people in Taiwan, especially those who are apolitical, are the easiest targets for the CCP’s united front tactics. Chen Baiyuan also highlighted the CCP’s insidious strategy of gradually infiltrating Taiwanese society to eventually control it.
During his visit to Mainland China, Chen Baiyuan interacted with several taxi drivers undercover, posing as a supporter of “cross-strait unification.” When he asked when Taiwan will reunify with China, one driver admitted that it might take time due to the CCP’s one-party rule, indicating that the CCP will ultimately dictate terms.
Regarding the issue of whether Chinese citizens dare to openly criticize CCP leaders, one driver outright denied it, saying that any dissenting opinions would be swiftly suppressed. He elaborated on how criticizing the government online could lead to repercussions from authorities, highlighting the lack of true freedom of speech in China.
After visiting the “Taiwan Youth Entrepreneurship Base” in Taizhou City, Chen Baiyuan engaged in a candid conversation with a taxi driver on their way back to the hotel, discussing the economic challenges faced by locals due to dwindling tourism and businesses struggling to make ends meet.
Another taxi driver expressed dissatisfaction with the CCP’s constant calls for unification without concrete actions, blaming the government for distracting people from pursuing financial stability.
In discussions with intermediaries in China, Chen Baiyuan learned that the CCP uses financial incentives to lure Taiwanese youth to start businesses in China, with banks offering loans of varying amounts. However, a portion of these loans ends up in the pockets of bank executives, creating a cycle of corruption.
In a report by Xinhua News Agency on December 18, Fujian Province announced initiatives to support Taiwanese youth in starting businesses and easing residency permit procedures. These policies aim to attract more Taiwanese to invest in mainland China.
Reflecting on his trip to Mainland China, Chen Baiyuan concluded that the economic situation there is dire, with many locals admitting to the grim reality despite the CCP’s propaganda. He emphasized that many Chinese citizens have no outlet to express their frustrations and often resort to seeking information from overseas sources, including videos like those from Bajiong.
In conclusion, Bajiong stated that Chen Baiyuan’s journey to Mainland China exposed the facade of China’s economy and uncovered the corruption nexus between Fujian’s factions and Taiwanese middlemen exploiting united front tactics, further deteriorating China’s economic situation.
He emphasized that currently, the only viable collaboration between the people of Taiwan and Mainland China is to “eradicate the CCP.”
