In a recent event held in Sunnyvale, Silicon Valley on March 15, the organizers TAIWAN NEXT and co-organizers Plug and Play showcased groundbreaking AI computing technology for over 500 attendees at TAIWAN DEMO DAY.
Katie Hsieh, founder and CEO of TAIWAN NEXT Foundation, stated in an interview with Dajiyuan, “We invited 10 new AI startups with a focus on Taiwan’s strength. Over 500 participants registered for the event, and we welcome active participation in the Q&A session.”
TAIWAN NEXT, as a non-profit organization, hosts numerous activities every month on technology and career development to promote the influence of Taiwanese individuals in the United States.
“Unicorn Incubator” Plug and Play, founded in 2006, is a top global technology innovation accelerator and investment firm. It has previously successfully incubated tech giants like Google, PayPal, and Dropbox.
Currently nurturing and supporting new AI companies to reach a valuation of over $1 billion and qualify for listing.
The 10 startup companies include: MetAI, MirWork, MORALE AI, Pixel Canvas, Namecard.ai, Dealight AI, and Athleo.ai. MetAI is the only company that has received investment from NVIDIA.
Co-founder and COO of MetAI, Dave Liu, mentioned that in real factory production, there is a large amount of real data that ChatGPT cannot process. Their approach is to let AI learn from this real data and then apply it to actual factory production.
Athleo.ai is a technology applied in the sports field that enables athletes, coaches, and sports professionals to showcase skills through video resumes, build connections, and facilitate exchanges and career development in the sports industry.
Derrick, CEO of Athleo.ai, stated, “Over 95% of young athletes rely on outdated training methods such as public tryouts, expensive intermediaries, or personal networks, which are unfair, and the success rate is at most 5%. Our platform can change this situation, allowing every athlete to showcase their talents and make connections.”
Dr. Jason Hsieh, founder president of the Taiwan Chamber of Commerce in the San Francisco Bay Area and also a media person in attendance, emphasized in an interview with Dajiyuan that one of the most appealing aspects of Silicon Valley is its abundance of high-tech talent. When these talents come together, there are more and better innovations in technology. President Trump’s call for everyone to return to the office also encompasses this idea.
He also mentioned the world’s keen interest in Taiwan’s AI, emphasizing that Taiwan cannot develop in isolation and is honored to be in a great era of investment and joint research in the United States, where everyone will witness the soaring of AI.
