Taiwan Air Force Releases Footage of Intercepting 56 Chinese Military Aircraft Crossing the Taiwan Strait

The Ministry of National Defense of the Republic of China announced that from 6 a.m. on the 10th to 6 a.m. today, a total of 56 aircraft from the Chinese Communist Party crossed into Taiwan’s Air Defense Identification Zone, with the military closely monitoring and responding appropriately through joint intelligence surveillance measures. The Air Force also released footage of the military monitoring and intercepting 16 fighter jets and H-6 bombers.

The Chinese Communist Party has not abandoned the use of force to achieve reunification with Taiwan, claiming that Taiwan is an indivisible part of Chinese territory under its rule. Almost every day, the CCP sends aircraft and ships to harass Taiwan. The Beijing authorities have also issued a set of “22 measures” punishing “Taiwan independence” separatists, with the most severe penalty being the death sentence. Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of China, Chen Liguo, recently stated that the risks of traveling to the mainland have been increasing, and the government is committed to strengthening public awareness through various means.

In a press release issued at 9 a.m. this morning, the Ministry of National Defense of the Republic of China stated that from 6 a.m. on the 10th to 6 a.m. today, a total of 66 aircraft (including 56 instances of crossing the Taiwan Strait median line into northern, southwestern, and southeastern airspace) and 7 warships were detected engaging in activities around the Taiwan Strait.

The Defense Ministry emphasized that the military is closely monitoring and responding with aircraft, ships, and missile systems. According to the Air Force’s flight path map, the aircraft that intruded into the northern airspace were approximately 72 nautical miles from Keelung, while those intruding into the southwestern and southeastern airspace were about 91, 58, and 33 nautical miles from Erluanbi.

Today, the Republic of China Air Force Command once again released footage of targeting and monitoring activities of the J-16 fighter jets and H-6 bombers.

In response to the frequent intrusions across the median line by Chinese aircraft, the Ministry of National Defense recently announced that starting from July 1st, the military has added English broadcasts to warn and drive away intruders, in addition to the existing Chinese broadcasts.

Furthermore, on the 10th at 9:30 a.m., the Ministry of National Defense announced in a press release that starting from 5:20 a.m., a total of 37 aircraft including J-16s, H-6s, KJ-500s, and drones from the Chinese Communist Party conducted naval activities. Thirty-six of these aircraft crossed the median line and its extensions, traversing the southern and southeastern airspace of Taiwan towards the western Pacific Ocean to participate in joint air-sea training with the Shandong aircraft carrier. The military closely monitored these activities through joint intelligence surveillance measures and deployed aircraft, ships, and missile systems to respond appropriately.
