Sudden Death of Village Director During Argument with Village Cadres in Hunan

In a sudden turn of events, the news of the sudden death of the village chief of Mu Family Village in Lianyuan City, Hunan Province, during a meeting has become a hot topic.

On January 21st, a netizen posted a video exposing that a village cadre in Mu Family Village, Lianyuan City, Hunan, suddenly died during a village committee meeting.

According to the report by Xinjing News, Zhou Fukui, the village secretary of Mu Family Village, stated that the incident occurred around 7 a.m. on the 21st, where the deceased and other village cadres had a dispute during the meeting leading to his sudden death.

The Qiaotouhe Town government disclosed that the deceased, aged 59, was the village chief of Mu Family Village named Wang. He passed away due to a sudden illness following a quarrel over village finances with other village cadres, and there was no physical altercation between the parties.

This incident has sparked discussions among netizens, with some questioning the timing of the meeting being at 7 a.m. and whether the death of Village Chief Wang due to work-related issues should be considered as “dying in the line of duty”.

Some netizens also commented that the incident occurred around 11 a.m. on the same day, and Village Chief Wang died in the line of duty. The deceased was a retired soldier, and his son is currently serving in the military. Wang had held this position for over 10 years and it was supposed to be his final term, but unfortunately, he suffered severe verbal abuse and attacks due to a work dispute, leading to his death.

As of now, the local authorities have not issued any official statement regarding this incident.
