Shenzhen Child Throws Wet Tissue from Upstairs, Hits Car, Parents Pay 7000 Yuan

Shenzhen: A child in Shenzhen recently caused a stir when they threw a wet paper towel from upstairs while playing at home, hitting a car below. As a result, the parents had to pay a compensation of 7,000 RMB. This incident made headlines on Baidu’s hot search on March 24, sparking discussions among netizens.

According to Shenzhen News Network on March 23, a homeowner in the Fuzhong Community of Xixiang Street, Shenzhen, discovered a dent on the hood of their private car. Upon inspection, it was found that the dent was caused by a large bundle of wet paper towels hitting the hood. The homeowner promptly contacted the property management, who determined that it was the act of a resident on the second floor.

The parents of the resident admitted that their child, while playing by the window, threw a large bundle of wet paper towels from home, hitting the hood of the private car below and causing a dent. They claimed that it was an unintentional act.

After mediation, the upstairs resident offered a compensation of 7,000 RMB, apologized to the car owner, and pledged to enhance the safety education of their child. The car owner ultimately agreed to this compensation proposal.

Following the release of this news, it sparked heated discussions among netizens, with over three hundred expressing their opinions.

Many netizens expressed confusion at the fact that a bundle of wet paper towels thrown from the second floor could dent the hood of a private car.

Netizen “xuhekkkk” said: “A wet towel thrown from the second floor causing a dent on the car… just a wet towel? How high is the second floor? How strong was the child? I can’t imagine the reason behind this.”

“Abby’s Travel” questioned: “Is this a hoax? Second floor, child, wet towel, dent on the car, 7,000… Isn’t there a more reasonable explanation to this simple question?”

“china_mwt” joked: “There must have been lead balls wrapped inside that wet towel.”

Some netizens expressed concerns about the quality of the car.

However, “Unknown Hero629” commented: “Which brand of car is this? It should be as hard as iron if it’s the hood that’s damaged.”

“201611lxj” pointed out: “This proves that the child saved the day. With a car like that, driving a bit faster might have caused the hood to deform and bounce up.”

Netizen “柯代容N7” asked: “I really want to know – how high is this second floor? How big was that ‘large bundle’ of wet paper towels? 7,000 RMB for a dent on the hood – what kind of car is this? Will the car owner dare to drive it again?”
