The news of a primary school teacher in Shanxi bringing his son to the classroom to physically assault students has sparked a heated debate online and quickly became a hot search topic on February 27th.
According to a report by Shangyou News, on February 24th, a parent in Shuozhou, Shanxi, posted on social media accusing a fifth-grade homeroom teacher at Huai Ren City Seventh Primary School of leading his own son and another student to a different class to verbally and physically attack the parent’s child.
The parent stated that the incident started when the teacher’s son kicked a ball that hit the parent’s child during a break, and when the child kicked the ball away, the teacher’s son asked, “Do you know who I am?” The child did not know and went back to class. A few minutes later, the teacher entered a sixth-grade classroom with his son and another student, grabbing the head of the parent’s child and violently berating and hitting him, repeatedly asking, “Do you know he is my son?”
At that time, a math teacher was present but did not intervene promptly. It was only after the violence ended that the math teacher approached to persuade the teacher to stop. However, the teacher felt dissatisfied and proceeded to kick the victim’s genitals multiple times, regardless of how the child tried to resist.
Some online sources revealed that the teacher deliberately targeted the crotch area of the students while assaulting them, and even instructed his son to continue the assault, causing outrage among netizens.
In a circulated video, the child’s ears were red, and his school uniform was torn due to the severity of the beating.
Blogger “Wild Mountain History” stated that the incident has caused a significant uproar with the parents of the assaulted students voicing their anger and frustration online. Various rumors began spreading, with some claiming that the assaulted child suffered serious physical harm, while others suggested hidden motives behind the incident.
On February 27th, Jiemian News reported that during a dispute on the school playground between fifth-grade students Jiang, Li, and Yu, and sixth-grade student Wang at Huai Ren City Seventh Primary School, a teacher named Liu (who is the mother of student Jiang) took student Li to confront student Wang in his classroom, where Liu physically assaulted Wang during the confrontation.
On February 27th, the Huai Ren City Education Bureau issued a statement regarding the incident, announcing the formation of an investigative team to look into the situation at the Huai Ren City Seventh Primary School. They decided to give a severe disciplinary action and suspension to fifth-grade teacher Liu, along with disciplinary measures for relevant leaders, including the principal and teachers at the school.
This news has ignited a wave of reactions online, with many netizens calling for the teacher responsible for the assault to be held accountable and condemned for such violent behavior.
A Baidu user commented, “Such a teacher should indeed be suspended. Conflicts among students should be resolved by the students themselves, and if they cannot, adults should step in to mediate. A teacher resorting to physical violence goes against the ethics of education.”
Another online user stated, “In the conflict between three fifth-grade students and one sixth-grade student, one of the three students is the child of the teacher, and one is from the same class. The teacher took her own student to confront the sixth-grade student, leading to physical violence. One can argue that she stood up for her student or that she sought personal revenge by involving her own class student.”
Another user criticized the teacher’s actions, highlighting the illegality of bringing two minors into a classroom during school hours to assault another minor student. They suggested that the teacher should be detained for 20 days and face administrative penalties, including demotion and removal from the position of homeroom teacher.
The incident has left a deep impact, triggering a storm of reactions online as users express their outrage and demand justice for the assaulted students. The news has gained significant attention and discussions in the online community, underscoring the importance of addressing violence in educational environments and holding teachers accountable for their actions.
