On Wednesday, October 16, Michael Whatley, the Chairman of the Republican National Committee, predicted that the results of the 2024 election will be revealed on election night.
Speaking on the “Furthermore with Amanda Head” podcast, Whatley stated, “I believe we will know the results on election night.”
“I am very pleased with our prospects, we like the current electoral map, we like the current public opinion polls, and I also like the voter registration numbers,” he added.
As the 2024 presidential election approaches, the Republican Party is advocating for early voting, a strategy different from their approach in 2020. Whatley mentioned that this strategy is proving to be effective.
“I like the current early voting numbers,” Whatley said. “We are very optimistic. I believe we will know the results on election night.”
He also predicted that the United States will be ready to welcome former President Trump back to the White House. He encouraged Americans to make a voting plan.
“If you want to vote early, that’s great,” he said. “If you want to vote by mail, that’s also fine. If you want to vote on election day, that’s good too. You must have a plan and then go execute it by casting your vote. There is no substitute for it.”
On Tuesday, Trump, during an interview with Bloomberg, was asked which states he will be watching on election night. He specifically mentioned three states: Pennsylvania, Michigan, and Arizona. Pennsylvania and Michigan are two of the three blue wall states for the Democratic Party that Biden won in the 2020 election. These states could also be crucial for Vice President Harris.
“Based on the current ballots, we are doing well,” Trump hinted at early voting data.
So far, the 2024 election sees a tight race between the two candidates.
