**Justice-seeking activist in Heilongjiang threatens with extreme protest**
Heilongjiang activist, Ma Bo, was inexplicably assaulted at a bus station in Beijing by a man, resulting in fractures in both her legs last September. The case has been ongoing for over a year, with Beijing authorities consistently avoiding taking action. Ma Bo has expressed her intention to wear a shroud and wait at the police station with her life on the line if the authorities fail to resolve the case fairly.
On November 1st, Ma Bo visited the Xiluoyuan police station in Beijing once again to inquire about the progress of her assault case to Officer Lin. Lin mentioned that it had been “handed over to the prosecutor’s office.” Ma Bo then proposed to accompany him to the prosecutor’s office on Monday to check on the case’s status, to which Lin agreed.
However, on November 4th (Monday), Ma Bo made numerous calls to Officer Lin without getting a response. After attempting several times through different channels, he finally answered and informed Ma Bo that the director did not allow him to go. Ma Bo stated, “This is clear evidence that the case has not been handed over to the prosecutor’s office, and he is afraid to face the truth.”
That same afternoon, Ma Bo went to the Beijing Municipal Public Security Bureau to report the issues she encountered to the reception staff and demanded to know the progress of the case.
Ma Bo expressed, “The misconduct of the police at Xiluoyuan police station is no different from that of bandits and robbers. I have informed Officer Lin that if the case is not fairly resolved, I am prepared to buy a shroud to wear at any time and wait at the police station with my life for the case outcome!”
When contacted, the Xiluoyuan police station in Beijing mentioned that Officer Lin was not available and requested a callback.
Back in September 2023, Ma Bo was maliciously assaulted on bus route 72 in Beijing. The case was taken over by the Xiluoyuan police station of the Fengtai District branch of the Beijing Public Security Bureau. Subsequently, false evidence was fabricated by the perpetrator, Qiao Minglian, and false judicial assessments were made by the authorities.
Ma Bo stated that on October 22, 2023, a judicial assessment conducted by the Shengtang Judicial Appraisal Institute classified her minor injuries as slight, and the next day, a psychiatric assessment was carried out for the criminal Qiao Minglian.
Therefore, Ma Bo took the initiative to arrange a judicial assessment at another institute, and on December 23, 2023, the assessment result came out: “Minor injuries to the left foot toes, minor first-degree injury to the right knee joint.” That day, the Xiluoyuan police station registered a criminal case, verbally informing Ma Bo that Qiao Minglian would be criminally detained on December 24, detained at the Fengtai detention center. “I requested to see the detention procedure, but they kept making excuses and did not show it to me,” she said.
According to the law, after 37 days of detention in the detention center, the individual is supposed to be handed over to the prosecutor’s office. After Qiao Minglian was detained for 37 days, Ma Bo asked the police, “Why has Qiao Minglian not been transferred to the prosecutor’s office?” The director replied: “Qiao Minglian’s special circumstances fall outside the 37-day range of the case process; a psychiatric evaluation is needed before a decision can be made.” Ma Bo questioned, “Why did the Xiluoyuan police station falsify facts in favor of Qiao Minglian? They verbally promised his detentio….
