On Saturday, October 19th, a drone took off from Lebanon towards the private residence of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in the Caesarea region and struck a building. An Israeli Prime Minister spokesperson confirmed the attack, stating that the Prime Minister and his wife were not at the scene at the time, and there were no casualties.
Before the Israeli Prime Minister’s spokesperson issued a brief statement, the Israeli Defense Forces stated that three drones crossed the border from Lebanon into Israeli territory, with two intercepted and one “hit a building in the Caesarea area.” However, the military did not specify the purpose of the building or its relation to Netanyahu’s private residence. It is currently unclear whether the building was damaged.
Israeli media reports indicated that the target of the drone was the Prime Minister’s residence in Caesarea.
The military stated that they are investigating the incident.
Israeli police reported hearing an explosion in the coastal town of Caesarea where Netanyahu owns a private residence.
No organization has yet claimed responsibility for the incident.
Netanyahu responded to the attack, stating, “Nothing will stop us, we will continue moving forward until victory.”
“As you know, two days ago, we eliminated (the mastermind behind) the Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar who planned the massacre. As I said, we are in a battle for survival, and we will continue (fighting) to the end,” he said.
“I am proud of our soldiers, I am proud of our commanders, I am proud of you – the Israeli citizens,” he added.
Netanyahu also mentioned that Sinwar was the mastermind behind terrorism, his thugs beheaded Israeli men, raped women, and burned babies alive.
“We got rid of him,” the Prime Minister said. “We are continuing to fight against other terrorist agents of Iran.”
The Israeli Defense Forces reported that as of Saturday, approximately 55 rockets have been fired from Lebanon into Israel.
Hezbollah, an ally of Hamas, has frequently launched attacks on Israel since the outbreak of the Gaza war last year, forcing a large number of residents in northern Israel to evacuate. In recent weeks, Israel has intensified its airstrikes on Hezbollah, killing several high-ranking officials, including Hezbollah leaders, severely damaging the command structure.
