Promising National Security Junior Guo Jiaxuan Passes Away, Heartbreaking Farewell Video Brings Tears

After 41 days of being declared brain dead, promising young player Guo Jiaxuan from Beijing Guoan Football Club passed away on March 19th at Tian Tan Hospital, just a few hours before his 19th birthday. Guo Jiaxuan’s father, who suffers from a leg ailment, bid farewell to his son with heart-wrenching sobs, shouting “my son” in a voice filled with agony.

According to reports from Southern Metropolis Daily and Jimo News, Guo Jiaxuan, who played for the Chinese Super League team Beijing Guoan, was sent by the Beijing Football Association to Madrid, Spain for training. On February 6th, during a match against a local team, Guo Jiaxuan collided with another player, suffered a head injury, and fell into a coma, later being diagnosed with brain death by the hospital.

On February 14th, Guo Jiaxuan was transferred back to Beijing and taken to Tian Tan Hospital for treatment. After consultations, it was confirmed that he was brain dead and no further treatment was possible.

Sources revealed that on the morning of March 19th, the hospital suddenly notified Guo Jiaxuan’s family that his condition had become critical, with multiple fluctuations in his health. At 6:47 pm that evening, the hospital announced it could no longer save him. Around 8 pm, the family made the heartbreaking decision to discontinue treatment, and the hospital later confirmed Guo Jiaxuan’s passing.

A video of Guo Jiaxuan’s family bidding him farewell circulated online. In the video, Guo Jiaxuan’s father, who suffers from a leg ailment, cried out in sorrow, tearfully calling out “son.” This scene deeply saddened netizens, as Guo Jiaxuan’s father had knelt before the local doctors in Spain, begging them not to remove the medical tube in an effort to save his son.

Netizens expressed their condolences to Guo Jiaxuan’s family: “The sight of a father with white hair sending off his son with black hair is heart-wrenching, and I feel the pain too!” “I dare not watch the video as a father myself, may Guo’s father find solace in this time of grief.” “The saddest thing in this world, my heart breaks!” “Rest in peace. May you find football in heaven. ” “May young Guo rest in peace, walk well, and may the living be strong and accept this change.”

Currently, the family is making funeral arrangements, and Guo Jiaxuan will be laid to rest in Beijing.

More than a month has passed since Guo Jiaxuan was declared brain dead, and to the family’s dismay, they have yet to receive the footage of the match, the medical transportation process, and Guo Jiaxuan’s insurance information at the time of the incident.

The Beijing Football Association has also not directly responded to the family’s queries regarding the match footage, recruitment procedures, insurance coverage, and other matters.

This signifies that the family will have to endure not only the immense pain of losing a loved one but also bear the burden of seeking a truth they can believe in regarding the cause of Guo Jiaxuan’s death for a long time to come.
