In a heartwarming incident in Dothan, Alabama, a pregnant woman gave birth to her eagerly awaited son in the parking lot of a Krispy Kreme doughnut shop. As a result, the entire family received a year’s supply of doughnuts from the store, allowing them to enjoy free treats for a whole year.
According to a report by WTVY television station, the woman named Sha’nya Bennett, along with her 5-year-old son, was monitoring the weather when she started experiencing frequent contractions.
Sha’nya’s husband, Keon Mitchell, immediately drove her and their son to the hospital for delivery. With approximately 1 mile left to reach the hospital, Sha’nya felt like she was about to give birth, prompting Keon to pull into the parking lot of a Krispy Kreme doughnut shop. The store was closed due to a snowstorm.
Despite Keon making an emergency call for help, Sha’nya gave birth to their son, Dallas Mitchell, before medical personnel arrived. She shouted to Keon, “Catch him, catch him!”
Reflecting on Dallas’s birth, Keon remarked, “I really don’t know how I stayed calm because I was really terrified.”
Sha’nya added, “I feel like Wonder Woman.”
Sha’nya and Dallas were later taken to the hospital for examination. Both mother and son are healthy and have been discharged.
The manager of the Krispy Kreme doughnut shop, Laura French, upon learning about Dallas’s birth in the shop’s parking lot, decided to gift the family a year’s supply of doughnuts and extended an invitation for them to celebrate Dallas’s first birthday at the shop next year.
