Prank? Men Wear Same Shirts to Church Service

A group of men recently attended Sunday service at a church wearing matching shirts, much to their surprise. Little did they know, this was a prank orchestrated by their wives.

The idea for this prank originated from a video shared by Savannah Farely, the social media manager at Pinnacle Church in Vinton, Ohio, in a group chat with the ladies of the church.

Farely told Epoch Times, “I saw a video online, and then the ladies of our church started a group chat. Since we have a close relationship, I shared the video with them, found it interesting, and suggested we should do the same. All the ladies immediately jumped in on planning this prank because we enjoy having fun.”

Farely’s mother found a blue checkered shirt online, believing it would be a hit with all the men. She then shared the link with all the women in the church, and everyone agreed on the choice.

The planning of the prank took about three weeks to complete, but the secret was well kept.

Upon the arrival of the shirts, each wife in the church group told her husband that she happened to find the shirt online or on sale. Surprisingly, all the men believed their wives.

On the day of the prank, March 24, a week before Easter, some men arrived at the service earlier than others.

Farely revealed, “When the first two men saw each other, they couldn’t help but say, ‘Oh, we happened to wear the same shirt today.'”

Subsequently, a young boy also walked in wearing the same shirt, brushing it off as a coincidence.

Farely said, “But then, more and more people kept coming in. Slowly, they each realized, ‘Oh, everyone is wearing the same shirt today.'” That’s when they realized they had been pranked.

According to Farely, the reactions to the prank were all amusing but varied.

Farely’s father is the pastor of the church, who pointed out that people in the church looked like Spiderman pointing at his clone.

Meanwhile, usher Jared’s expression was described by many as “grumpy.” However, Farely clarified, “It wasn’t that he was actually upset; he was just playing along. It was all in good fun.”

On that day, around 15 people, including the young boy, ended up wearing the same shirt. It was a successful prank for the women who orchestrated it, showcasing their love for each other.

Pinnacle Church was founded by like-minded Christians in Ohio in 2023. They started gathering in houses and parks before finding a building in Vinton.

As a social media manager, Farely has always been on the lookout for interesting content to share online. She said, “As a church family, we often joke around. So I thought this would really reflect our way of life. We enjoy having a good time.”

However, she didn’t expect the prank video to go viral online. Nonetheless, she was delighted to know that so many people got to know about it.

Farely shared, “Some other churches also saw the program and came up with new creative ideas, which was really fun. Many of our family and friends have seen it, and they all found it amusing.”

Many online commenters remarked that Pinnacle Church seems like a lovely church family, a sentiment Farely wholeheartedly agrees with. She said, “You can see the love we have for each other, indeed.”
