Aitona is a agricultural town located in the province of Lleida in western Catalonia, covering a total area of 67 square kilometers with a population of less than 3,000 people. Surprisingly, it is the main hub for peach cultivation and export in all of Spain, with thousands of hectares of orchards hosting various peach tree varieties like nectarines, red peaches, and flat peaches.

Every year, around March and April (especially from late March to early April), Aitona transforms into a sea of flowers as peach blossoms bloom prolifically. The hills are blanketed with peach blossoms in shades of red, pink, and white, creating an unbelievably beautiful sight. This previously unknown town has unexpectedly gained fame in recent years as a popular spring flower-watching destination thanks to its unique peach orchard landscapes.

Local residents remark that during the peak bloom of peach blossoms each spring, the town attracts numerous visitors, injecting a renewed vibrancy into the community.

To boost local tourism, the Aitona town government has planned different flower-watching routes. Visitors can choose to explore the blossoms on foot or opt for guided cycling tours. During the peach blossom season, there are also hot air balloon rides available, allowing visitors to admire the thousands of hectares of peach blossoms from above.
