The inaugural Longines Hong Kong International Equestrian Festival took place from February 14 to 16 at the AsiaWorld-Expo, marking the first time this event was held in Hong Kong.
Members of the Jockey Club Equestrian Team, including Lam Lap-yan, Lai Chung-man, and Lai Ka-yi, will represent Hong Kong in some of the equestrian competitions held during the festival.
Approximately 65 participating horses arrived in Hong Kong from the UK and Belgium on February 10, escorted by Jockey Club stable assistants. They were transported from the Hong Kong International Airport to the AsiaWorld-Expo by the Jockey Club horse transport vehicle.
The three-day festival includes various equestrian performances, with the Highlight Rides by the Hong Kong Jockey Club featuring 6 retired horses participating in the “RESTART” program. These retired horses will perform in a group show following the music, showcasing different movements and formations within 6 minutes, marking the first time retired horses have performed in Hong Kong in this manner.
Additionally, members of the Jockey Club Equestrian Team, Lam Lap-yan, Lai Chung-man, and Lai Ka-yi, will represent Hong Kong in the five-star competitions held during the international equestrian festival. They will compete alongside renowned show jumpers from around the world.
