To encourage overseas compatriots in Southern California to return to Taiwan to participate in the inauguration ceremony of the 16th President and Vice President of the Republic of China, the Orange County Overseas Chinese Cultural and Educational Service Center has invited everyone to return to Taiwan through various channels such as Line and Facebook. The Taiwanese Associations of Orange County and Orange County, the Taiwanese American Chamber of Commerce of Orange County, the Chinese Lions Club of Orange County, the Taiwanese Medical and Dental Associations of Orange County, FAPA Orange County Chapter, the Taiwanese American Citizens Association Orange County Chapter, the Chinese Chamber of Commerce of Orange County, and the Orange County Chapter of the World Chinese Business Women’s Association all have members making plans to return to Taiwan.
The newly appointed Overseas Chinese Affairs Commissioner and President of the Taiwanese American Chamber of Commerce in Orange County, Chen Qigeng, is very pleased to lead members of the Taiwanese American Chamber of Commerce in Orange County and overseas Chinese in Orange County to return to Taiwan to participate in the inauguration ceremony. Earlier this year, he returned to Taiwan to participate in the presidential election, fulfilling his civic duty as a citizen. This time, he has specially adjusted his work schedule to return to Taiwan to witness the development of Taiwan’s democratization. He also hopes to strengthen the connection between the younger generation of members and Taiwan, and to strive overseas for a freer, more democratic, and more prosperous future for Taiwan.
The current Chairperson of the United Association of Taiwanese Chambers of Commerce in North America, Lin Tsuiyun, also expressed great honor in being able to return to Taiwan to participate in the inauguration ceremony of the 16th President and Vice President of the Republic of China. In March of this year, she participated in the “Washington DC Advocacy Trip,” meeting with bipartisan members of Congress seeking support for Taiwan-related issues and deeply recognizing the importance of Taiwan-US diplomacy. She also wants to take this opportunity to return to Taiwan to show support for Taiwan.
