On the afternoon of January 16, earthquakes struck in Yinchuan, Ningxia, and Hefei, Anhui.
According to the Ningxia Seismic Network, on January 16 at 17:54, a 2.3 magnitude earthquake occurred in Jinfeng District, Yinchuan City, Ningxia (latitude 38.42 degrees north, longitude 106.23 degrees east), with a depth of 15 kilometers.
This was the second earthquake to hit the region in recent days. On January 12 at 05:41, a 3.0 magnitude earthquake struck in Jinfeng District (latitude 38.41 degrees north, longitude 106.23 degrees east), with a depth of 17.2 kilometers.
Prior to this, on January 2, earthquakes with magnitudes above 4 occurred in two locations in Yinchuan. At 10:01 on the 2nd, a 4.8 magnitude earthquake hit Yongning County in Yinchuan, and at 16:43 in the afternoon, a 4.6 magnitude earthquake struck Jinfeng District. Officials from relevant departments in Yinchuan said that these two earthquakes were the largest to hit Ningxia since the 4.9 magnitude earthquake in Haiyuan in 1998.
According to the China Earthquake Administration, a 3.7 magnitude earthquake occurred in Feidong County, Hefei, Anhui (latitude 31.97 degrees north, longitude 117.61 degrees east) at 18:52 on January 16, with a depth of 12 kilometers.

On February 24 at 18:13:06, a 3.5 magnitude earthquake occurred with a depth of 15 kilometers.
On May 12 at 02:32:14, a 3.1 magnitude earthquake occurred with a depth of 15 kilometers.
On September 14 at 05:12:11, a 3.9 magnitude earthquake occurred with a depth of 10 kilometers.
On September 18 at 20:08, a 4.7 magnitude earthquake occurred with a depth of 12 kilometers.
On September 25 at 19:29, a 3.8 magnitude earthquake occurred with a depth of 12 kilometers.
