On June 26th and 27th, the popular South Korean girl group NewJeans held their “Bunnies Camp 2024 Tokyo Dome” fan meeting at the Tokyo Dome. The two-day event attracted over 90,000 attendees, including Hong Kong actor Tony Leung and Japanese artist Takashi Murakami, who have collaborated with NewJeans. During the event, members of NewJeans shed tears of gratitude towards their fans.
NewJeans kicked off the fan meeting with their hit songs “Attention” and “Cookie.” HANNI and Danielle performed the unreleased song “Hold It Down,” while HAERIN prepared a dance performance. They also delighted fans with performances of popular tracks like “Hype Boy,” “New Jeans,” “Super Shy,” “ETA,” “How Sweet,” “OMG,” “Ditto,” and “ASAP,” as well as their Japanese debut song “Supernatural.”
Additionally, each member showcased special solo performances. MINJI presented Vaundy’s “Odoriko,” HYEIN performed Mariya Takeuchi’s “Plastic Love,” Danielle unveiled her own composition “Butterflies (With U)” for the Bunnies (official fanclub), and HANNI sang Seiko Matsuda’s “Blue Coral Reef.”
The first day’s fan meeting featured popular Japanese duo YOASOBI as guests, who performed NewJeans’ “Right Now” together and collaborated on YOASOBI’s song “Biri-Biri.” YOASOBI also performed the theme song “IDOL” from the popular anime “Ishojo Child” solo.
On the second day, British-Japanese singer Rina Sawayama served as a guest. Besides performing “Bad Friend” with HYEIN, Rina Sawayama also delivered performances of “Comme Des Garcons” and “XS.”
During the second day’s performance, members mentioned that Japanese artist Takashi Murakami and Japanese fashion designer-rapper Hiroshi Fujiwara attended the event to support NewJeans. Hong Kong actor Tony Leung, who previously starred in NewJeans’ “Cool With You” music video, was invited as a special guest, and NewJeans extended birthday wishes to him.
Prior to the event, HYEIN was unable to participate in promotional activities for Korean music shows and some Japanese programs due to a slight foot fracture. When HYEIN emotionally spoke about the incident during the event, all members embraced and comforted her.
MINJI emotionally expressed that they often thought of HYEIN during their activities and worked hard to fill the void, with HYEIN cheering them on. When sharing their thoughts, the members also thanked the fans for their continuous support.
Having debuted in South Korea only 1 year and 11 months ago, NewJeans became the fastest overseas artists to perform a solo concert at the Tokyo Dome after their debut. Tickets for the fan meeting sold out immediately, and even the obstructed view seats made available by the company on the eve of the event were sold out. The two-day fan meeting attracted a total of 91,200 participants.
NewJeans will also appear on the Japanese program “CDTV LIVE! LIVE!” airing on July 1st and participate in “THE MUSIC DAY” airing on July 6th.
