New York: Over 250,000 Received Eviction Notices, Chinese Citizens Second Largest Group with 28,000

According to the latest immigration court data provided by the technology non-profit organization Mobile Pathways for the year 2025, a total of 254,180 individuals who resided in New York State received deportation orders between 2000 and 2024. However, it is currently unclear how many of them still live in New York, as some may have already left the state or relocated to other states.

An analysis of immigration data by Documented reveals that the majority of these over 250,000 individuals come from 10 different countries, accounting for more than 70% of the total. Among them, individuals from Ecuador make up the largest group with approximately 33,000 people, followed by Chinese citizens at 28,242. Additionally, other countries with a significant number of individuals facing deportation orders include Guatemala, Honduras, El Salvador, Mexico, Colombia, India, and Peru.

It is worth noting that in recent years, a large number of Venezuelan immigrants have surged into New York City due to poverty and political instability. However, the data shows that fewer than 5,000 Venezuelans have received court-ordered deportations, indicating that this trend has not been fully reflected in legal decisions yet.
