New York Governor Hochul Reaffirms Support for President Biden

In a recent statement, the Lieutenant Governor of New York publicly expressed opposition to President Biden’s reelection. In response, Governor Hochul reiterated her support for Biden on two separate occasions and made it clear that she has no intentions of holding a position in the federal government in the future; she is committed to continuing her role as the Governor of New York.

According to the New York Post, inquiries were made to 15 out of the 26 members of the New York congressional delegation, including Tom Suozzi, Meng Zhao-Wen, Nydia Velazquez, Daniel Goldman, Jerry Naddler, and AOC. Apart from Suozzi, who has not publicly disclosed his stance, the other congress members who are up for reelection in November have expressed their support for Biden. They have either taken to social media or publicly stated their positions to the media.

During a press conference on Friday, Governor Hochul was asked about any future plans to work in the federal government, to which she responded firmly, “No.” She emphasized, “As long as the voters support me, there is no greater job on Earth than being the governor of this great state.”

Reflecting on Biden’s recent press conference on Thursday night, Governor Hochul deemed it a success. “That was the act of someone upholding world order,” she said. “If there’s any doubt about that from anyone, whether Democrat, Republican, or independent, I don’t know who you should listen to, but listen to what the President said last night.”
