Nancy Pelosi issues statement in support of He Jinping’s presidential campaign.

California Congresswoman and former U.S. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi announced her endorsement of Vice President Kamala Harris as the Democratic presidential candidate for the November election. In a statement on Monday, Pelosi expressed her pride and optimism for the future of the country in supporting Harris in her bid for the U.S. presidency.

Pelosi stated, “Today, with immense pride and boundless optimism for our nation’s future, I endorse Vice President Kamala Harris for President of the United States. My enthusiastic support for Kamala Harris’s presidential campaign is official, personal, and political.”

From an official standpoint, Pelosi highlighted Harris’s strength and courage as a champion for working families, especially in the fight for women’s reproductive rights. On a personal level, Pelosi emphasized Harris’s rooted values, faith, and commitment to public service over the decades. Politically, Pelosi noted Harris’s cunning as a female figure in politics and expressed full confidence in her ability to lead the party to victory in November.

Within the Democratic Party, Pelosi stressed the importance of diversity as strength and unity as influence. She called on fellow Democrats to unite and support Harris in defeating Republican opponent Trump and winning the election in November.

Pelosi is among the first high-ranking Democrats to publicly endorse Harris. Prior endorsements from former President Bill Clinton and his wife, former U.S. Secretary of State and 2016 Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton, along with President Biden’s support after announcing his withdrawal from the presidential race, have also bolstered Harris’s candidacy. However, notable Democrats like former President Barack Obama, Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer, and House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries have yet to declare their support for Harris.

Nevertheless, Harris has garnered significant support from key figures, including Senate Majority Whip Dick Durbin, House Majority Whip Katherine Clark, House Democratic Caucus Chairman Pete Aguilar, and other prominent members of Congress.

Furthermore, Harris has also secured backing from potential competitors, campaign partners, and certain state Democratic party chairs and delegations. Despite stepping back from Democratic leadership roles, Pelosi remains a crucial figure within the party, and her endorsement carries weight, offering vital support for Harris on her path to securing the nomination.
