According to the Taiwan Central Weather Bureau, this Richter scale magnitude 5.5 earthquake had a depth of 10 kilometers, with the epicenter located 26.8 kilometers south-southwest of the Hualien County Government (in Shoufeng Township, Hualien County), and the maximum intensity recorded in Hualien and Nantou counties at level 4.
The Taiwan Central Weather Bureau stated that at 5:09 pm, 5:12 pm, and 5:17 pm today, earthquakes with Richter scales of 4.4, 5.3, and 4.9 respectively also occurred in Taiwan, with their epicenters all located in Shoufeng Township, Hualien County, and the maximum intensity recorded in Hualien County at level 4.
