MrBeast, the First Person in YouTube History, Surpasses 300 Million Subscribers on His Channel

On July 10th, American time, the 26-year-old popular YouTuber “MrBeast”, whose real name is Jimmy Donaldson, officially surpassed 300 million subscribers on his YouTube channel, making him the first YouTuber in history to reach this milestone.

Jimmy Donaldson, born in 1998 in North Carolina, United States, started his YouTube channel at the young age of 13 in 2012. Initially, his videos only garnered an average of 1,000 views. It wasn’t until 2017 when he filmed a 40-hour long video titled “Counting to 100,000” that his fame skyrocketed. Despite some parts being time-lapsed, the video still remained 24 hours long. Within days of uploading, the video had tens of thousands of views, marking the beginning of Donaldson’s rise to stardom.

Under the stage name “MrBeast”, his videos are known for their high production costs and attention-grabbing stunts. He once spent $2 million to recreate a near-perfect version of the game “Squid Game”.

Reports indicate that in July 2022, “MrBeast” surpassed 100 million subscribers, becoming the second individual creator after the Swedish YouTuber PewDiePie, whose real name is Felix Kjellberg, to reach this milestone. As of October 15, 2023, “MrBeast” had over 200 million subscribers on YouTube.

By June 1, 2024, “MrBeast” had officially surpassed the Indian music giant “T-Series” to become the most subscribed YouTube channel.

On July 10, 2024, the subscriber count for “MrBeast” reached 300 million, making him the first YouTuber ever to achieve this milestone. In response, Donaldson celebrated by sharing a screenshot on the social platform X, recalling, “I remember being scared when I reached 300 subscribers 11 years ago… haha.”
