On April 12th, a Ukrainian Air Force F-16 fighter jet was shot down during a combat mission, resulting in the pilot’s death. This incident marked the second F-16 jet shot down by Ukrainian forces since their acquisition of the aircraft. Unlike the first incident where friendly fire was involved, this time the F-16 was likely downed by a Russian missile.
According to sources within the Ukrainian Air Force, Pilot Ivanov, a major, was likely targeted by Russian missiles. “The Russian military launched three missiles at the fighter jet, which were likely either surface-to-air S-400 missiles or air-to-air R-37M missiles fired from a Sukhoi Su-35.”
On Friday, April 11th, Trump’s envoy, Witkov, held a four-and-a-half-hour meeting with Russian President Putin in St. Petersburg. The Kremlin stated on the 13th that it was premature to expect immediate diplomatic results. Despite Witkov’s three discussions with Putin, Russia brazenly attacked the Ukrainian city of Sumy the next day, causing significant casualties and directly challenging Trump. The question remains: how long can Trump tolerate Putin’s actions?
Furthermore, Ukraine recently captured two Chinese nationals fighting for Russia and publicly released their interrogation videos. Ukrainian President Zelensky stated that at least 155 Chinese individuals were fighting on behalf of Russia. The Chinese Communist Party’s support for Russia’s aggression against Ukraine for over three years has resulted in the deaths of numerous Ukrainians and Russians. The CCP has also deceitfully lured some innocent Chinese individuals into the battlefield, leading to their tragic deaths.
