In Manhattan’s Lower East Side on the evening of February 16th, a young woman was sexually assaulted and robbed, the police revealed the suspect’s photo on Wednesday night and offered a reward of up to $3,500 for any useful information.
According to police sources, the incident occurred around 11:37 p.m. on February 16th near 26 Jefferson Street in Manhattan’s Lower East Side. The victim was a 21-year-old woman. She was walking along the sidewalk when the male suspect approached her from behind, first harassing her upper body, then pushing her to the ground and attempting to sexually assault her. The suspect then stole the victim’s handbag and fled north along Jefferson Street.
The victim did not sustain serious physical injuries during the incident. The case is being investigated by the 7th Precinct of the New York City Police Department.
Based on the suspect description provided by the police, the man is estimated to be between 30 and 40 years old, approximately 5 feet 10 inches tall (about 178 cm), with light skin and a medium build. At the time of the incident, he was wearing a black winter coat with a fur-trimmed hood, black pants, black and white sneakers, a baseball cap, and glasses.
