Mainland Tourist Refused Check-in at 7 AM After Booking Room for 3000 RMB

Recently, a Chinese netizen posted a video, stating that their group had booked a hotel near Snow Town in Heilongjiang for a stay from December 21st to 22nd, paying over 3,000 RMB for the room. However, due to heavy snow blocking the roads, when they arrived at the hotel at 7 a.m. the next morning, they were denied check-in.

According to a report from the Daily Economic News on December 28th, a mainland netizen posted a video on a platform on December 24th, revealing that he and 6 friends had booked 7 rooms at a hotel near Snow Town in Hailin City, Heilongjiang Province, for a stay from December 21st to 22nd and prepaid over 3,000 RMB for the rooms.

However, as their car got stuck in the snow while driving to the destination and there was no phone signal to contact the hotel in time, they couldn’t check-in on time as well.

It wasn’t until around 7 a.m. on the 22nd that they finally reached the hotel. When they tried to check-in, they were told that they couldn’t do so as they didn’t complete the procedures on time, and they wouldn’t get a refund for the room fee. They were asked to pay extra for check-in.

When the guests asked, “Isn’t it possible to check-in even if it’s between 7 a.m. and 12 p.m.?” the hotel responded, “The deadline was yesterday…”

After this incident was exposed, it attracted attention. According to a post from the WeChat official account of the Hailin Linhai Xueyuan Tourism Management Committee on December 28th, the issue of a certain hotel not providing accommodation services as agreed has been reported. The hotel in question is located 13 kilometers from the Snow Town scenic area at Yong’an Forest Farm. The situation reported by the netizens is true, and the hotel was found to be engaging in illegal behavior by not providing accommodation services as agreed. The responsible entity has been closed for rectification.
