Mainland Concert Hit by Insect Attack Again, Singer G.E.M. Breaks Down and Screams

Recently, Hong Kong singer G.E.M., who is currently holding the “I AM GLORIA” world tour in mainland China, encountered a bizarre incident during her performance at Hohhot Station in Inner Mongolia on the 27th. She was attacked by flying insects, not just one but multiple, which even lingered on her chest and head, causing her to scream in terror.

A video that surfaced on the 28th showed G.E.M. wearing a white long dress embroidered with burnt coffee-colored patterns from the previous night’s performance. After singing a set of songs, she interacted with the audience below, sharing her feelings. She revealed, “When I was young, I often felt helpless, and as I grew up, I discovered that the world is vast, and I am insignificant.”

While G.E.M. was emotionally sharing her insights, a fan suddenly shouted, “There are bugs!” It took her a moment to realize what the audience was referring to. The large screen at the venue showed several strange bugs crawling on G.E.M.’s body, with one climbing from her waist upward to near her collarbone.

Despite being terrified, G.E.M. tried to remain calm and asked the audience, “Are there bugs? Where are they? Please don’t scare me.” As two creatures resembling cockroaches neared her neck, she frantically waved her hands and screamed, repeatedly asking the audience, “Have they gone away yet?” Strangely, there were no staff members at the concert helping her catch the bugs, leaving her to scream on stage.

As G.E.M. approached the piano to prepare to play a song, she once again noticed the insects, causing her to scream and jump up, then asking a male staff member to help eliminate the bugs. It turned into a “bug-catching spectacle” at the scene.

Some internet users humorously commented, “Bugs: This is my VIP rock zone.” Fans left messages like “So scary,” “Why so many bugs,” “Those are cockroaches, right,” and “White fabric + lighting, that’s how insect enthusiasts attract bugs.”

In fact, during her concert in Chengdu on June 2, G.E.M. also faced a bug attack and staged a hilarious “escape drama,” which amused the entire audience.

During the performance, as G.E.M. was fully immersed, lightly touching the piano keys, and the melody flowing gently, a bug suddenly flew into the frame from seemingly nowhere, landing on the piano. G.E.M.’s expression immediately changed as she was startled by the bug. She instinctively withdrew her hands from the keys, leaned back slightly, and exclaimed, “Oh My God, there’s a huge bug, what should I do!”

She cautiously took the microphone off the stand, exclaiming, “I need to escape! Wait, I can’t do this! I’m so scared! The bug is so big! Who will come and save me!” Her playful words and exaggerated movements quickly transformed the tense atmosphere into an impromptu “skit performance.”
