Chinese Actress Zhao Lusi, who is 26 years old, revealed in a recent reality show “A Little Courage” that she has been experiencing rapid heartbeat and body pain after gradually resuming work at the end of January. Last year, she had to take a break from work due to aphasia and depression. While medication helps alleviate the symptoms, it also impairs her memory, making it difficult for her to remember lines and continue filming.
Zhao Lusi gained popularity for her roles in dramas such as “Brilliant Starry Sky,” “Can’t Hide Love,” and “Pearl Screen and Jade Curtains.” At the end of last year, during the filming of her new drama “Lover,” she fell ill and had to be rushed to the hospital. Videos from that time showed her collapsing with weak posture, curled up in discomfort, pale complexion, nasal tubes inserted, revealing her struggles with aphasia and depression.
After taking a full break to recover, Zhao Lusi gradually resumed work at the end of January. Recently, she appeared on the reality show “A Little Courage” without makeup and without receiving any payment. In the program, she had a conversation with child star Fu Bopan, who played her son in the drama “Let Me Shine.” While in the Ganzi Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture in Sichuan, Zhao Lusi described her anxiety disorder as a feeling of suffocation similar to experiencing oxygen deprivation, making it hard to breathe. This time, she did not experience altitude sickness because she was prepared with medication.
Regarding her current condition, Zhao Lusi mentioned that she often experiences rapid heartbeat and body pain due to “somaticization” (when psychological distress manifests as physical symptoms). When Fu Bopan asked, “Are you still in pain now?” Zhao Lusi replied, “I’m not in pain when I take medication, but I can’t remember anything.” Fu Bopan then realized, “Oh, so you can’t film now and can’t remember lines.” Zhao Lusi confirmed, “I can’t remember.” Fu Bopan then comforted her, saying, “Don’t film, rest well.”
Previous reports stated that Zhao Lusi faced health issues while filming the new drama “Lover.” Therefore, the above dialogue explains why she is still unable to resume filming “Lover.” Many fans are deeply concerned and sympathize with her, worrying that she may not be able to continue acting in the future, creating a trending topic.
Zhao Lusi admitted that she used to be someone who was tied up by the demands of the company, working tirelessly all year round on set, doing live broadcast shoots continuously, and even once only sleeping for two hours a day. At that time, she was in a hyperactive state both physically and mentally, feeling energetic and capable of doing the work of two days in one. It wasn’t until she fell ill that she realized her lifestyle was completely wrong.
