On Tuesday afternoon, Eastern Time, White House spokesperson Karoline Leavitt hosted a media briefing, which was livestreamed by NTD News and Epoch Times with real-time translation subtitles.
During the briefing, White House press secretary Leavitt updated the media on the situation. The proposal put forward by President Trump to end the war between Russia and Ukraine has sparked public interest.
This press conference took place after the United States and 17 other countries voted against a United Nations resolution condemning the Kremlin for starting the war in the region.
Monday marked the third anniversary of the Russia-Ukraine conflict. Trump hinted that the conflict between Russia and Ukraine could come to an end within a few weeks, although he did not provide detailed explanations.
French President Macron, after meeting with Trump at the White House on Monday, also mentioned that a ceasefire between Russia and Ukraine “could be achieved in the coming weeks.”
However, Putin said in an interview on Monday that Trump is approaching the Russia-Ukraine conflict rationally, not emotionally, but the conflict may not end as quickly as Trump hopes. “We simply agree that we will move in this direction.”
President Trump has expressed readiness to meet with Zelensky and sign an agreement to provide security guarantees for Ukraine in exchange for the country’s vital minerals.
Putin has also expressed willingness to consider cooperation with the United States in the extraction of rare earth minerals in Russia and parts of Ukraine occupied by Russia. He also stated that he is open to reaching an energy agreement with the United States.
In addition, Republican members of the U.S. Congress are racing against the clock to pass budget resolutions, aiming to advance Trump’s legislative agenda before the deadline on March 14th.
