Lai Ching-te distributes lucky bags to wish people a happy new year, calling for unity in Taiwan to overcome challenges.

President of the Republic of China, Lai Ching-te, kicked off his spring visits and blessings today (January 29) by distributing lucky bags for the Lunar New Year. Lai Ching-te delivered a speech, stating that amidst the rapidly changing international landscape, he believes that with unity, any difficulties and challenges can be overcome, and Taiwan will surely continue to progress.

Today, on the first day of the Lunar New Year, President Lai Ching-te visited temples in northern areas such as Taipei, New Taipei, and Keelung to pay his respects and distribute lucky bags. Vice President Hsiao Mei-chin also visited temples in central areas such as Taichung and Changhua to pray for blessings and distributed Snake Year lucky bags to greet the people.

President Lai Ching-te, along with presidential advisors Tong Yong, policy advisors Chien Wen-jen, Chen Chao-lung, Hung Tuan-chang, Ke Sun-ta, Chang Min-bin, Chang Chiu-hai, Lu Tzu-chang, and legislators Wu Pei-yi, Su Chiao-hui, Wang Cheng-hsu, and Lin Shu-fen, went on a spring visit together today, extending New Year greetings.

During his address, President Lai Ching-te mentioned that today he visited temples across the country to greet his fellow citizens and pray for blessings upon Taiwan, seeking divine protection for national stability, favorable weather, disaster-free seasons, and festive celebrations throughout the year, wishing all the good men and women and their families peace, prosperity, and great fortune in the Year of the Snake.

He highlighted the significant changes in the current international situation and the numerous challenges facing the country. He expressed gratitude for the support of the people and vowed to exert his utmost effort to safeguard the country’s survival and development, ensuring the safety of all citizens’ lives and properties, fostering economic growth, caring for the vulnerable, and improving the lives of Taiwan’s 23 million people. He believed that through unity and collective efforts, any obstacles and challenges could be overcome, ensuring Taiwan’s continuous progress.

Lastly, President Lai Ching-te once again extended his blessings to the nation for a safe, healthy, successful, and happy New Year.

Vice President of the Republic of China, Hsiao Mei-chin, and presidential advisors Chen Yung-chang, Ho Li-hsing, legislators Tsai Chi-chang, Ho Hsin-chun, Huang Hsiu-fang, Chen Su-yueh, and Chen Hsiu-pao also joined in the spring visits. Hsiao Mei-chin visited temples in central areas such as Taichung and Changhua to pray for blessings, wishing for favorable weather and national stability for Taiwan.

Hsiao Mei-chin also greeted the local residents, distributing Snake Year lucky bags and wishing everyone a happy and auspicious New Year. The audience warmly welcomed Vice President Hsiao, with a continuous stream of people queuing up to receive lucky bags, creating a lively and joyful festive atmosphere.
