President Biden will wrap up his visit to Angola on Thursday and return to the United States, although the White House has not yet revealed his schedule after that.
Jill Biden will embark on her last solo trip as the First Lady on Tuesday. The six-day visit will take her through Italy, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, and France. She will conclude her trip in Paris where she will meet with Trump and other world leaders to celebrate the reopening of Notre Dame Cathedral. Approximately 50 heads of state from around the world will be present at this momentous occasion.
Jill is the first Italian-American to become the First Lady of the United States. She has planned to visit Gesso, the village in Sicily where her father’s family hails from.
Trump announced on Monday that he will attend the event in the capital of France on Saturday. The world-famous Notre Dame Cathedral was damaged in a fire in 2019 during Trump’s first term as President. After five years of painstaking reconstruction, the grand cathedral will finally reopen to the public.
This week’s trip will mark Jill Biden’s tenth solo visit as the First Lady to a foreign country. She has also accompanied President Biden on numerous overseas trips. Her most recent trip was in October of this year when she attended the inauguration of Mexico’s first female president, Claudia Sinbom.
