On October 13, a netizen with the screen name “Villager” posted a video alleging that on October 12, a teacher in Xuefeng Town, Hongjiang City, accidentally hit his own daughter and injured two other students while driving his car inside the school campus.
The distraught netizen questioned why private cars were allowed on the premises, expressing shock and grief over the tragic incident that took the lives of three children, including his 7-year-old daughter. On October 14, the authorities in Hunan province’s Hongjiang City reported that on October 12 at around 10 a.m., a 39-year-old male teacher named Tan, working at Xuefeng Town Central School, was driving a small family car on the school premises to transport materials for the school’s sports day preparations. The accident resulted in the death of one student and injuries to two others. Tan was subsequently placed under criminal detention.
