Hollywood Star Mel Gibson Criticizes Arson Attack on Luxury Mansion.

Wildfires raging in Los Angeles County and surrounding areas have resulted in at least 11 deaths, with many celebrity mansions in Hollywood being destroyed by the inferno. Renowned director, Mel Gibson, who has won 5 Oscars, revealed in an interview on the 11th that his residence was lost to the flames while he was recording Joe Rogan’s podcast in Texas. Mocking Governor Gavin Newsom, he quipped, “Our taxes probably went towards his hair gel.”

Mel Gibson, 69 years old, expressed feeling uneasy as he traveled to Austin, Texas to record the “Joe Rogan Experience” podcast just 2 days ago, knowing his community was engulfed in flames. He somberly commented, “It’s truly heartbreaking.” He lamented the complete destruction of his property in Malibu, stating, “It’s shocking and saddening. You’ve lived there for a long time, you have everything, and now it’s all turned to ashes.” He criticized Governor Newsom’s handling of the crisis, accusing him of claiming to “be responsible for managing the forests, but did nothing.” He added, “Our taxes probably went towards his hair gel.”

Since January 7th, six wildfires have been devastating multiple communities in Los Angeles County, resulting in at least 11 deaths and damaging or destroying over ten thousand homes and businesses. As firefighters continue their door-to-door searches, the numbers of casualties and losses are expected to rise.

Mel Gibson is one of the many residents whose homes fell victim to the catastrophic wildfires. On the 10th, he told Fox News host Laura Ingraham, “It’s a tragedy. It’s very sad.”

From the photos, Mel Gibson’s mansion showcased a warm and rustic ambiance with abundant wooden elements, large floor-to-ceiling windows allowing natural light into the living room, a mounted bison head, and antique bronze chandeliers. However, post-wildfire devastation, Mel Gibson expressed disbelief, saying, “I’ve never seen a house burn to the ground like this, as if someone intentionally obliterated it.” Apart from a few tiles from the chimney and roof, nothing remained, and he dared not move around due to scattered nails and rubble.

Nevertheless, he expressed gratitude saying, “Regardless, I’m thankful to God.” Emphasizing, “The things lost are just material possessions, which may be replaced in the future or may not. But luckily, we’re still here.”

A multi-talented figure as a director, actor, and producer, Mel Gibson’s 1995 film “Braveheart” won five Oscars in 1996 for Best Picture, Best Director, Best Cinematography, Best Makeup, and Best Sound Editing. His notable works also include starring in the “Mad Max” series and “Lethal Weapon” films, as well as directing “The Passion of the Christ.”

Mel Gibson criticized California’s leaders for seemingly being “asleep” during the wildfire crisis, lamenting that “it’s something they’ll have to live with.” As Southern California embarks on a long road to rebuilding, Newsom and Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass face criticism for management issues leading up to the disaster, including fire department funding and water supply.

According to Fox News, Mel Gibson, along with many Hollywood celebrities, called out Newsom to “spend less on hair gel” and openly expressed his disapproval of the two executives’ leadership. He harshly stated, “California has a lot of confusing problems. Why are they doing this, then such events happen, you would wonder if it’s deliberate? It’s mind-boggling.”
