Hezbollah Missile Attack on Israel Leaves One American Citizen Severely Injured.

On Sunday, the Hezbollah launched anti-tank missiles at northern Israel, resulting in one soldier and two civilians being injured, hit by shrapnel and currently undergoing treatment at Galilee Medical Center, according to the latest update from the Galilee Medical Center.

A spokesperson from the medical center informed CNN that one of the civilians injured is a 31-year-old American citizen, whose condition is serious but stable. “He was taken to the shock room, where medical teams had to anesthetize him and put him on a ventilator,” the center added. “He will later be admitted to the intensive care unit.”

Earlier on Sunday, the Israeli military released a statement saying that the Iran-backed armed group Hezbollah had fired dozens of rockets and anti-tank missiles towards northern Israel, resulting in one Israeli soldier sustaining minor injuries.

The statement further mentioned that in response, the Israeli military carried out airstrikes on Hezbollah military facilities. Hezbollah, in multiple statements on Sunday, claimed to have launched rockets at several Israeli military targets.

On Saturday (July 6), the Israeli military conducted airstrikes in northern Lebanon, allegedly killing senior member of the Hezbollah anti-aircraft unit, Maytham Mustafa al-Attar.

Israel has stated that al-Attar was involved in planning and executing attacks against Israel and assisting Hezbollah in purchasing weapons from Iran. The Israel Defense Forces indicated that al-Attar’s death was a “blow to the Hezbollah anti-aircraft unit’s capabilities.”

Hezbollah confirmed al-Attar’s death but did not provide specific details on his role within the organization.
