The countdown to the election day, now just 11 days away, Vice President Kamala Harris and former President Donald Trump are set to face off in Texas on Friday (October 25).
Harris will be holding an event in Houston, focusing on the nationwide impact of the abortion ban and criticizing the Supreme Court’s overturning of the Roe v. Wade ruling.
Her campaign team has been frequently attacking Trump on the abortion issue, particularly slamming his remarks during the process to end Roe v. Wade, including his praise for states implementing abortion restrictions.
Women who have suffered health damage due to the abortion ban, a Texas obstetrician who has discussed the risks of the state’s abortion law, and the mother of Amber Thurman, a Georgia woman who died from rare complications after taking abortion pills, will join Harris at the event.
Additionally, she will be joined by Texas Congressman Collin Allred (Democrat) at the event, who is currently engaged in a fierce rivalry with Senator Ted Cruz (Republican).
Harris will also be interviewed by Brené Brown, a popular podcast host particularly beloved by women.
Local Houston superstar Beyoncé is also set to attend the gathering.
On Friday afternoon, Trump will hold a rally in Austin, where he is expected to attack Harris’s policies on immigration and border security.
According to the Associated Press, the US-Mexico border issue is one of the biggest weaknesses for Harris in the 2024 presidential election.
The National Border Patrol Council, the official union representing the US Border Patrol, held a rally in Prescott Valley, Arizona on October 13, declaring full support for Trump in hopes of his re-election to end the immigration crisis in the southern border.
Fox News reported that at the rally, Trump expressed his honor in receiving the union’s support, representing the entire Border Patrol Special Agents Alliance. He said, “It’s a great honor!”
Paul Perez, the union chairman, stated that millions of unchecked immigrants are entering the US and committing crimes such as murder, rape, robbery, burglary, putting the country in danger. He emphasized that the only person who can solve this problem is Donald J. Trump, who has always stood with those protecting the border.
During his time in Austin, Trump will also record a podcast with Joe Rogan.
Rogan is currently one of the most popular and controversial media figures in the US, with millions of downloads per episode. His show often invites top news personalities for discussions.
The former president will also head to Traverse City, Michigan for a rally, as one of the seven battleground states that could potentially decide the presidential election.
